My goodness, that's close, isn't it? Sorry — close-up shots were sort of a theme amongst our team today. Didn't want to be the odd man out. Well, not any more odd than usual, anyway.
I think I've already talked about this today in every social medium I'm part of, but I'm going to do it here, too. There was a fantastic hashtag rumbling around on Twitter earlier. I'm not entirely sure how it got started, but someone had the amazing idea to try to raise awareness about organizations in Toronto that are focused on harm reduction, addiction, and mental health. The hashtag that was used for this campaign was #payitFordward — it was genius.
At the risk of diluting my message, I'd encourage everyone to search out the tweets under that hashtag. There were some fantastic organizations tossed into the stream, and any one of them would be worthy of your support.
And to quickly pivot back on message, today's Movember men's health fact just happens to be mental health-related. Did you know that four out of five suicides among young people are committed by men? Well, now you do.
If you have any money left after making the contribution I suggested above, I would of course be pleased to receive your support as I continue to grow my Mo. It's coming in nicely, don't you think?
And a big thanks to theatre buddy Gerry Lewis, who not only made a donation to the cause to me today, but also to a bunch of others — he put out a call on Facebook asking for his friends to let him know if they were doing Movember fundraising, because he wanted to give away money. That's some next level generosity, right there.
I'll be back with MOre tomorrow. See you then.
